OUR STORY
THE BRAND
Varaqi began its journey in 2016. Our inspiration comes from nature and our impression of all the places in the world we have visited: the Amazon, Iceland, Canada, the Andes, the Caribbean, Turkey and many more. On this life transit, with Varaqi, we delve into the people, their customs, thoughts, desires, their culture and capture all that information in our jewelry.
In addition to the information of the different primary elements such as gold, silver, brass, precious and semi-precious gems, the creations are impregnated with the information from the different places visited, making a symbiosis of both material and cultural DNA’s which allows for the germination of our pieces.
Aside from our yearly collections we also co-create jewelry on commission with our clients. Using the moodboard method we express our customer’s individual essence and nature, their histories, experience, and the narratives and meaning that are essential to them. This discovery process is then symbolically materialized in their jewel.
THE DESIGNER
The jeweler and founder of Varaqi, Paloma Piano, is the resonance of different artistic concepts: jewelry, music, painting, sculpture, poetry which manifest in all her creations.
Her designs are an expression of harmony. They are artistic statements of nature, empowerment, spirituality.
