DESIGN
Varaqi’s jewels are not meant to embellish, they are artistic expressions. Our designs result from a dialogue and harmony between the natural shape, the texture of the materials used, and powerful cultural symbolic expressions. We work with gold, silver, brass, precious and semi-precious gems. Our jewels manifest empowerment, spirituality and protection, they are amulets of sorts.
During our creative process we immerse ourselves in a harmonious environment of meditation, prayer, mantras, classic, baroque, world music, candles and palo santo to inspire the artistic flow.
SELECTION
Our raw materials come from suppliers and distributors in Bogotá, sometimes international suppliers especially from Brazil and Mexico. We also acquire many of our stones in the different travels we make. All of our metals are recycled. All our materials are certified.
CRAFTSMANSHIP
We maintain and expand with Varaqi a tradition of working with metals and gems that has developed for thousands of years in the Andes’ indigenous traditions: assembled jewelry, lost wax casting, engraving, granulation, hammering, chain making and filigree.
All our pieces are unique and handcrafted in Varaqi's workshop.
